And if that’s you we would love to have you join us!Job DescriptionSummaryThe Network & Security Services (NSS) Technician is part of Rockwell Automation’s Lifecycle Services Business, focused on providing technical services that may include start-up, troubleshooting of systems in a wide variety of applications. The NSS business is focused on the areas of networking, virtualization, wireless, and security.This position requires creativity, experience, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. You will be responsible for executing assigned tasks related to the overall system design, implementation, and test as part of the project engineering team. These projects will be specific to enabling a Connected Enterprise by connecting the Industrial Internet of Things at our key customer facilities.Working with the Project Manager, you will support the established objectives, work plans, and execution of development tasks for a particular solution on project assignments. You will coordinate with the Lead Consultant to ensure compatibility and integration with established products and procedures.Potential candidates should have:
  • Communication and commercial skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and concurrent priorities

  • Sense of urgency and communication style that promotes team collaboration
  • Ability to review and write detailed documentation that could include customer requirements, system specifications, observed issues, and remediation recommendations
  • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines to protect themselves and others
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technician in Electronic, Telecomunicacion, Industrial, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related areas
  • 2-years' experience in related areas
  • Travel requirements include the flexibility to travel between 50% - 70%.
  • Knowledge of staging and/or deployment support in one or more of the following areas:
  • Network infrastructure (switches, routers)
  • Virtualized infrastructure (VMWare ESXi)
  • Wireless survey and infrastructure (WLAN controller, AP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with drawing and documentation software, such as Microsoft Visio® with the ability to read network architecture diagrams
  • Familiarity with a variety of networking, virtualized platforms, wireless, and security concepts, practices, and procedures in a manufacturing or enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge of copper (CAT5/5e, CAT6) and fiber media (OS1, OS2) differences and installation
  • ‘Hands-on’ experience in supporting projects in industrial environments including process automation, discrete controls, and automated manufacturing processes & equipment
  • Experience supporting hardware migration and upgrades
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA configuration & programming
  • Previous experience working as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team completing full project life-cycle implementations
  • Recognized network, virtualization, wireless, or security certification (CCNA Industrial, CCNA R&S, CCNA Security, VMWare VCP, ISA/IEC 62443)
