Supervises Data Center Engineers and Data Center site. Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance. Typically has 2-3 years of people management experience and is fully proficient with each of the responsibilities indicated.**Responsibilities**
Management
- Supervises Data Center Engineers to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected
- Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and developmentSite Capacity Management
- Overall site capacity supervisionProject/Infrastructure Management
- Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center
- Provides input and guidance towards budgetVendor Management
- Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standardsTesting
- Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problemsIncident ManagementCommunicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident**Qualifications**
- 5+ years experience as an Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or related Engineer
- High School Diploma
- Preferably with specialization or certification in project management, knowledge in electrical distribution systems and medium and low voltage generation, preferably certified in ITIL, SIXSIGMA, good maintenance practices in electrical and mechanical equipment
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance of building facilities or high availability facilities that support critical services infrastructure
- At least 5 years of experience in support of Data Center infrastructure
- At least 5 years of experience in administration and control of budget, and infrastructure maintenance and optimization methodologies for HVAC, UPS, Generators, medium and low voltage distribution systemsEquinix is an equal opportunity employer.
