We’re a thriving and growing organization which offers you many possibilities to shape a better world, and your future.The OpportunityThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), six month internship (practíca) running from July to January.· Assisting senior staff and gaining exposure on a variety of projects such as climate hazards and risk assessment, climate change modeling and assessment, infrastructure vulnerability, resilience and adaptation strategies for climate risks, and public policy framework analysis on resilience considerations.· Supporting research and administrative tasks· Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings· Coordinating with multiple disciplines and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete assigned tasks· Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences· Understanding trends and best practices in the resilience and climate adaptation discipline, and disaster risk reduction communityIs this role right for you?We’re looking for current students who are curious and ready to evolve how you think and work. If you can share your knowledge and ideas and encourage others to do the same; whilst having a desire to deliver excellent services for clients – we’d like to hear from you.· Working towards a Bachelor’s degree (Pregrado) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Urban Studies· Excellent writing and research skills· Interest and academic experience in natural hazards and disaster risk management, hydrology/hydraulics modeling, climate change, and experience with geospatial analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)· Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, among others.· Solid communication skills· Advanced English Skills (verbal and written, B2 or above)· Must be enrolled at the following universities: Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Bogota, Universidad del Rosario, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Central, Universidad Externado de Colombia and will need to apply through respective university portal in addition to completing an application here.· Submit your resume in English.· Eligible to work in Colombia.Our team’s notable projects· Agora Convention Centre, Bogota· The Atrio Towers, Bogota· Barranquilla public spaces Master Plan· 7 Lender Technical Advisor role for 4G highway projects, ColombiaWhat we offer youEach year, Arup seeks out students from around the world for our summer internship program.
